Dump it all. See exactly what Clarity saved.
A brain dump is the simplest thing you can do for a full head: get every open thing out, without sorting, until there is nothing left to hold. The dump is the easy part. Turning it into something you act on is where most of them stall.

What a brain dump is
You write or say everything on your mind, in whatever order it comes: tasks, worries, things you promised, things you keep forgetting. No categories, no priorities, no dates yet. The point is to stop using your head as the place where things are stored.
Then, and only then, you sort: what has a date, what can wait, what you are not going to do.
Prompts to get it all out
If you stall, go area by area:
- Work: emails to answer, invoices to send, meetings to book, things you said you would look at.
- Kids and school: forms, payments, appointments, birthday invites, things to buy.
- The house: repairs, bills, groceries, renewals, the thing that has been broken for a month.
- People: calls you promised, gifts, replies you owe.
- You: the doctor, the passport, the thing you keep putting off.
Why most brain dumps die on paper
A page of forty things is a relief for about ten minutes. Then it becomes one more list to look after. The work that matters is the second step: deciding which day each thing belongs to and making sure the date reaches you when it comes. That is the step that rarely happens at 11pm.
A brain dump, and exactly what Clarity saved
With Clarity the dump is where you start. You say or type it all at once, and it turns what it understood into separate tasks and shows you what it saved. Your week is the main screen, each day with its tasks, and what has no day yet waits in Later.
What you say: "ok so today... the budget has to go to Marta at ten, that one's urgent. Leo's pediatrician at eleven. I need to reply to the landlord, groceries for Sunday lunch, I still haven't paid for Leo's trip... oh, and book the car service. Remind me about Mom's prescription at six, and call the plumber at six thirty."
What you get:
- Today: 10:00 AM · Budget to Marta; 11:00 AM · Pediatrician, Leo; Reply to the landlord; Groceries for Sunday lunch; Pay for Leo's trip; Book the car service; 6:00 PM · Mom's prescription, with a reminder; 6:30 PM · Call the plumber
Paper or app?
Paper is free and works well if you sit down afterwards and sort it. An app earns its place when the sorting is the part you skip. If that is you, try it with your own voice in the browser first, no download: withclarity.online/try.
Questions
How long should a brain dump take?
A few minutes. Stop when nothing new comes for a while.
How often should I do one?
Whenever your head feels full. Many people do one on Sunday evening and a short one at the end of each day.
Can I brain dump by voice?
Yes. With Clarity you say it all at once, and it turns what it understood into tasks and shows you what it saved. Typing works the same way.
What do I do with things that have no date?
They wait in Later, out of your head but still somewhere you will see them.
