Your to-do list in ChatGPT and Claude: which apps connect

We make Clarity, so read this knowing that. The short answer, as of 5 November 2026: Todoist, TickTick, Notion and Asana have official connections in both ChatGPT's and Claude's directories. Clarity connects to both as a custom connector you add yourself. Apple Reminders works with Claude's iPhone app, not with ChatGPT. Microsoft To Do and Things have no official connection. Below is how each one connects, on which plans, what the chat can do with your tasks, and where ours loses.

How we compared them

Three questions decide it. Does your list app connect at all? How: from the directory inside ChatGPT or Claude, where you search for it and sign in, or as a custom connector you add by pasting its address? And once it is connected, can the chat only read your tasks, or also add, complete, edit and delete them?

Most of these connections run on MCP (Model Context Protocol), an open standard that both ChatGPT and Claude support. Facts about each app come from its own help center and from its listing in ChatGPT's or Claude's directory, read on 5 November 2026 and linked at the bottom. Where an app's pages don't say something, the table says so.

Clarity: Voice Planner (ours)

Best if your list starts in your head and you also want to see it, and change it, from a chat. In the app you say or type what's on your mind, and it turns what it understood into tasks and shows you what it saved. From ChatGPT or Claude you reach the same list through four tools: one shows what you have today, in the next days, in Later, from past days, everything still open, what you finished in the last week, or your lists; one adds tasks, with a day, a time that sets a reminder, or to one of your lists, up to 25 at a time; one marks tasks, steps or list items done; and one changes a task's title, notes, day or time. None of them deletes anything. The connection is free on every Clarity account.

How it connects: in Claude, as a custom connector, on any Claude plan; Claude's free plan allows one custom connector, and on Team and Enterprise an Owner adds it once and then each person connects. In ChatGPT, on the web, from Plugins, as a custom MCP server named Clarity Planner, because other apps already use the name Clarity there. OpenAI's help lists custom MCP servers for Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces; on 5 November 2026 we added it from a free personal ChatGPT account, and it read the list and added a task. We have not tried it on Plus, Pro or in a workspace.

Where it loses: it is not in ChatGPT's or Claude's directory yet, so you add it by hand, and ChatGPT shows a warning before you do. A reminder with a time added from a chat rings on your phone once Clarity has scheduled it there, which happens when the app opens or syncs after the change. Something that repeats keeps its schedule, and you change that in the app. The app itself has no shared lists, no Android and no web yet.

Why we make it: we help people believe in their potential, act on their ideas, and turn what they imagine into reality, toward a world where every mind gets to realize its full potential. The app is where that starts today, with the smallest step: getting what is in your head onto a list you can see.

Todoist

Best if you want an official connection in both, with projects and teams, on any Todoist plan. Doist, the company that makes Todoist, publishes a plugin in ChatGPT's directory and a connector in Claude's, and its help center lists both for every Todoist plan, including the free one. Its Claude guide says Claude can read, add, edit, complete and delete tasks; its ChatGPT guide says ChatGPT can read, add and edit tasks and projects. One limit from the Claude guide: asking Claude to "change the date" of a repeating task removes the repeat, so ask it to reschedule instead.

TickTick

Best if you want tasks, habits and focus records in one place, reachable from both. TickTick's help center points to its connector in Claude's directory and its plugin in ChatGPT's, and its pricing page includes the connection in Free and Premium. Its tool list covers reading, adding, editing and completing tasks, moving them between lists, and deleting a task, which moves it to the Trash.

Notion

Best if your tasks already live in Notion pages and databases. Notion's connector is in Claude's directory, where it searches, creates and updates pages, and its tool list includes deleting pages. In ChatGPT, Notion is in Plugins, and OpenAI's help describes searching and reading pages. Notion says this works on every Notion plan, for workspace members but not guests.

Asana

Best for work tasks you share with a team. Asana has an app in ChatGPT's directory and a connector in Claude's. Its pages say you can create projects and tasks, check status, and assign and update work from the chat, and that you may need an administrator's permission. They don't say which Asana plans include it, or whether the chat can complete or delete a task.

Apple Reminders

Best if you use Claude on your iPhone. Claude's iPhone app can create reminders and add items to your existing lists, with dates, priorities and notes, on every Claude plan; it can't create or edit the lists themselves. ChatGPT has no Reminders plugin: OpenAI's help says its iCloud Mail and iCloud Calendar plugins are rolling out, and that standalone Reminders is outside that launch.

Microsoft To Do

No official connection that we could find. Claude's Microsoft 365 connector covers Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams, and OpenAI's setup pages for Microsoft apps in ChatGPT cover Outlook, SharePoint and Teams. Neither lists To Do.

Things

No official connection. Its maker, Cultured Code, says there is no way to connect ChatGPT and Things directly and that it doesn't offer a direct connection with Claude. Some third-party tools connect Claude's desktop app to Things, and Cultured Code warns that the unsafe ones can corrupt your database.

How to connect Clarity

The steps are on one page, in English or Spanish: withclarity.online/connect. In short: in Claude, add a custom connector with the address https://www.withclarity.online/mcp. In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins and add a custom MCP server with the same address, named Clarity Planner. Then sign in with the same account you use in the Clarity app, or connect with a short code that you add as a task in Clarity, which works with any account. You can disconnect it anytime from Claude or ChatGPT.

How to choose

  • You want an official connection in both, on the app's free plan: Todoist or TickTick.
  • Your tasks live in Notion pages or Asana projects: their own connectors.
  • You only need to add reminders from Claude on your iPhone: Apple Reminders already works there.
  • Your list is in Microsoft To Do or Things: neither has an official connection today.
  • Your list starts in your head, you want to say it once and see exactly what Clarity saved, and then see or change the same list from ChatGPT or Claude: Clarity, added by hand for now.

Questions

Which to-do list apps work with ChatGPT?

As of 5 November 2026, Todoist and TickTick have official plugins in ChatGPT's directory, Notion and Asana have apps there, and Clarity connects as a custom MCP server named Clarity Planner, added on the web. Apple Reminders, Microsoft To Do and Things have no official connection to ChatGPT.

Can ChatGPT add things to my to-do list?

Yes, once your list app is connected: then it can add tasks, and with most of the apps above also edit or complete them. On its own, ChatGPT has scheduled tasks, which run at a time you set and notify you; OpenAI's help allows 3 active ones on the free plan, in flexible windows like morning or night. That covers a few reminders, not a list you keep.

How do I connect my to-do list to Claude?

If the app is in Claude's directory, like Todoist, TickTick, Notion or Asana, search for it in Customize › Connectors and sign in. If it isn't, like Clarity, add it as a custom connector with its address; Claude's free plan allows one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner adds it for the organization first.

Is the Clarity connector in Claude's directory the same Clarity?

No. The one in Claude's directory is Microsoft Clarity, a website analytics tool from Microsoft. Clarity: Voice Planner is not related to it, and you add it as a custom connector, with the steps at withclarity.online/connect.
